Kenneth Li
Ken started playing the violin at the age of 11 under the tuition of Mr Benson Ma, later with Mr Joe Chan, and now with Mr Wong Wai Ming. He obtained his DipABRSM certification in violin performance in 2009, and further obtained the LTCL Viola Performance Diploma with Distinction. Ken has graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor degree of Arts in Music.
Being an enthusiastic orchestral player, he has performed with many local orchestras and acted as a leader in some of them, such as Hong Kong Symphony Orchestra, SAR Philharmonic, Chung Chi Orchestra, City University Philharmonic Orchestra, Pro Arte Orchestra of Hong Kong and Learners Orchestra etc, and worked with various world-renowned artists. He was appointed concertmaster of Chung Chi Orchestra in 2010 and performed Lalo's Symphonie Espangole as a soloist with the orchestra in 2012 . Apart from performances in Hong Kong, Ken also represented Hong Kong to perform in Nanjing and Taiwan.
Besides orchestral playing, Ken participates actively in chamber music making in different groups, including string trio, string quartets, piano quintets, septet etc. He also learnt about ensemble and solo playing with Cellist Mr Friedrich Gauwerky and Mr Paul Silverthorne in masterclasses. Ken performs actively with his team in wedding banquets and events etc.
Ken is also enthusiastic in playing Jazz music. Apart from jam sessions in Hong Kong, Ken went to Taipei International Summer Jazz Academy in 2015. He was selected as one of the outstanding students to participate in an exchange programme at Koyo Conservatory of Music in Japan.
