Leung Chi Shing

Clarinet Teacher

 

LEUNG Chi-shing is the clarinetist of Hong Kong New Music Ensemble, an active local musician in contemporary music. LEUNG obtained his Master’s Degree at San Francisco Conservatory of Music and Bachelor’s degree at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, studied with Anthony Wong and Ben Freimuth. His debut recital was held in Hong Kong City Hall in 2008 and he has also performed a chamber recital in the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2009.

 

In 2008, LEUNG was invited as soloist in “Rock Hard”, a production of Hong Kong New Vision Arts Festival and its rerun in 2010 as a program of Shanghai Spring International Music Festival and Shanghai World Expo. LEUNG has also performed in international music festivals in China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Australia, USA, Hong Kong, etc. LEUNG has served as the conductor of Chung Chi Wind Orchestra, CUHK since the fall of 2009. In 2011 spring concert and joint concert with HKIEd, he was one of the four soloists, performing LO Hau-man’s Rain Sketch (V) with CCWO. LEUNG’s recent performances include Hong Kong Modern Academy, Hong Kong Arts Festival’s commissioned production, “Images of Hong Kong” and the opera “Heart of Coral” for Hong Kong Week in Taipei.
