Chuang was placed on the Dean's list of the Faculty of Arts in CUHK for three consecutive years. She was awarded the Kunkle and Pommerenke Scholarships, Chung Chi College Scholarship (Hon) and Chung Chi College Departmental Prize (Hon).

Melody, Kuen Kuen Chuang, who has been teaching more than 15 years, is graduated from the Music Department of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, major in flute, with the guidance of Ms. Ivy Chuang. Chuang was awarded distinction for her Licentiate Diploma (LTCL Recital in Flute) from Trinity. Chuang also received private lessons from New York Philharmonic piccoloist Ms. Mindy Kaufman and learned jazz flute with Mr. Timothy Wilson, the former principal flute of HK Philharmonic. Besides flute, Chuang has also learned organ with Ms. Wong Kin-yu and Mr. Gary Tong respectively. Apart from instrumental learning, she also took a series of conducting workshop, with Dr. Thomas E. Verrier – Associate Professor of Music at Vanderbilt University's Blair School of Music, which enhanced her pedagogy. Besides, she also received formal vocal training with the world-renowned soprano, Ms. Lan Rao.
Work and Performance Experience
Chuang is enthusiastic in teaching students of all ages from kindergarten to retired people. She has been an interpreter for ABRSM's practical examination for years. She was a flutist and the Orchestral Operation Officer in Hong Kong Wind Ensemble (HKWE), which hosts regular public concerts. During her university study, she took part as the piccoloist and flutist in Chung Chi College Orchestra of CUHK.
In addition to classical music, Chuang is also active in various kinds of musical performances. She was invited to play flute duets with Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull), a Rock Icon of all time in his worldwide performance tour (HK station) - Never Too Old To Rock'n'Roll! at AsiaWorld-Expo in 2013.
She has also performed with Youth Choir like Ponte Singers, "The Life and Songs of Fanny Crosby" organized by the Divinity School of Chung Chi College of CUHK and "Opera Carnival" held by Opera Hong Kong as a flutist, playing several wind instruments and synthesizers for pop concerts and Christian Music Organizations like the Sharehymns and Hong Kong Association of Christian Music Ministry Ltd (ACM), playing flute, piccolo and recorders for musical "Oliver" and playing flute for "Melodia" produced by HKYAF.
